Our testing laboratory
As one of the largest industrial laboratories for inorganic elemental analysis and powder characterization, ChemiLytics offers a comprehensive range of services for companies and agencies worldwide. With approximately 7,500 m2 of laboratory space, including a total of 1,000 m2 under clean-room conditions, we provide independent analytical services of the highest quality at our location in Goslar thanks to state-of-the-art equipment. Around 70 highly qualified and experienced employees at ChemiLytics process more than 50,000 samples every year, using methods specifically tailored to the individual needs of customers in different markets, including the metal industry, aerospace and e-mobility. What’s more, our state-of-the-art Laboratory Information and Management System allows us to interface with customers’ IT systems, such as SAP, and this allows us to work very closely with our customers through integrated processes.

Our history
The history of our laboratory dates back to the foundation of the H.C. Starck Tungsten Powders factories in the 1920s, when H.C. Starck’s own company laboratories still handled analytics. The establishment of an “inspection laboratory” in the 1940s (later the “main laboratory”) resulted in the creation of a neutral entity responsible for testing product quality and determining the exact contents of purchased raw materials. This laid the groundwork for our company today. Over the decades, the laboratory underwent a series of expansions in terms of both the number and variety of devices and laboratory spaces, and thus the analytical services were strengthened and the service portfolio enhanced repeatedly. This was driven, on the one hand, by the need to develop and document new analytical methods suitable for special H.C. Starck products, but was also aided by technological developments such as the introduction of computers. As the demands placed on the laboratory continued to grow, planning began in 1984 for the construction of a completely new, state-of-the-art central laboratory in Goslar. Commissioned and opened in 1990, the laboratory boasted 7,500 square meters of space, including a total of 1,000 square meters under clean-room conditions. Today ChemiLytics is a subsidiary of the Vietnamese company Masan High-Tech Materials and a partner of H.C. Starck Tungsten Powders.
